You’ve completed your free consultation with Advanced Orthodontic Specialists – and have been seen by one of the specialists to determine treatment plan, treatment times and the types of braces appropriate for you. What now?
Your orthodontist will use a digital scanner, they do this for two reasons:
- To have a record of what your teeth look like before you get started with treatment – pictures may also be taken for this.
- To custom print aligners, or trays.
Once this is complete, a second follow up appointment will be scheduled to actually fit the treatment.
During Your First 3 Months
What to expect during the first 3 months of treatment will vary depending on the kind of treatment that you’re undergoing. If your plan includes metal braces or tooth colored ceramic braces then you’ll likely have appointments every 6-8 weeks to change your wires and continue the tooth movement.
With Damon™ stainless steel and ceramic dental braces and brackets, we see patients experience more comfort, and a faster length of treatment with less visits.
If, however, you opt for Spark™ or Invisalign™ clear aligner treatment then you’ll be given custom printed aligners, expertly designed to limit in-office appointments needed for a confident smile. Some patients can even go 3-6 months before their next appointment is necessary, though we’re always here to help!
you will have weekly appointments where your orthodontist will provide you with new, slightly modified aligner trays that work to straighten your teeth.
End of Treatment
Whatever the amount of time that your orthodontist outlines within your unique treatment, we assure you: you won’t be able to stop smiling once the braces are removed or your aligner treatment is complete.
After the treatment ends, retainers are encouraged 24 hours a day for the first week, and then can be worn only at night.
How long does a braces treatment take?
The length of your treatment will vary depending on the complexity of it and any jaw alignment needed. Here at Advanced Orthodontic Specialists, our treatment times are 30% shorter than the national average! Many of our patients complete their treatment in less than a year.
Can I straighten my teeth without braces?
Yes – aligner treatments do not require metal or ceramic braces. Instead it relies on custom-printed aligner trays that move your teeth when being worn. They are clear, and are discreet.
How expensive are braces?
The pricing will also vary – but it can start as low as $2980 for an early phase of treatment. Schedule a free consultation to receive a personalized pricing plan, here at AOS we also offer financing options and payment plans.
