How To Straighten Teeth Without Metal Braces?
Dealing with crooked teeth, and a less-than-confident smile? We know it can take a toll on you, but we also know that the traditional metal orthodontic braces aren’t for everyone.
Luckily, that doesn’t mean you’re out of options. There are a variety of more discreet solutions to straighten your teeth without impacting the appearance of your smile in the meantime.
Let’s talk about a couple of them – to find out more, discuss your treatment goals with our team of experts in a free consultation.
Clear Aligners
What are clear aligners?
Clear aligners are a great alternative to traditional braces. They’re an almost-invisible, easy to clean option that is made up of removable orthodontic trays. Think: retainers, but you wear them all day, and replace the trays each week to continue slightly moving the position of your teeth.
Here at Advanced Orthodontic Specialists, we offer both InvisalignTM and Spark Clear AlignersTM.
How does the treatment plan differ?
So, you’re interested in clear aligners…what next? First, you’ll need to attend a consultation with one of our doctors to ensure this is the right orthodontic treatment plan for you. From there, you’ll receive a new, custom-printed set of orthodontic trays each week, gently and comfortably moving your teeth to the desired location.
Clear Braces
What are clear braces?
Clear braces are closer to the more traditional orthodontic type of braces, encouraging tooth movement with the use of brackets – but they’re much more discreet, blending in with your teeth. These are often called ceramic braces and they offer a similar look to invisible aligners, but are typically a more accelerated braces treatment option.
How does the treatment plan differ?
Like we’ve mentioned, clear or ceramic braces are essentially a more subtle version of the traditional metal braces, and so typically will mimic the typical braces treatment plan – with office visits and brace tightenings.. Here at Advanced Orthodontic Specialists, we use DamonTM Clear Braces which allow for more comfort, faster treatment and ultimately less office visits.
All of this to say, not wanting metal braces does not mean that you can’t straighten your teeth. There are options for you, and this is just a few of them.
